Homer, Alaska
We drove on South to the Anchor River Inn and Restaurant and had a nice lunch. We then continued on and stopped at the Norman Lowell Gallery. It was a wonderful stop and showcased many beautiful paintings by the resident artist. He even came out into the Gallery to give information on various paintings. Several were so large that they encompassed most of an "ordinary" wall. But this Gallery was made to show everything in the best light. There were also lots of other artists represented by their works. Including an entirely wooden clock. Sculpted ivory, minerals, woods, metals and more. Gallery prices were way out of our price range even for smaller reprints. But it was very nice to view. No flash photography was allowed. No problem here! My camera cord malfunctioned and wouldn't charge anymore. I was rather frustrated. Punctuated when we reached our next stop just a few more miles down the road. The bluff overlooking the joining of Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet. Of course the sky was a bright blue and the two visible volcanoes and mountains were magnificent. The Visitors Center in Homer gave us directions to a Radio Shack. They did not have the right cable but they had a charger for the battery. We plugged the battery in and it started charging immediately. Next we went down to the spit and found a campground ($15/night) Not too bad considering where we are. We had a great beef stew with cornbread. The stew was made in our traveling crock pot. We walked the docks to get oriented to the local businesses.
Upon our return to the camper we loaded the battery into the camera. It works!
